In this FemDom blog, I will speak of masculine energy and feminine energy. Although I may use gender-specific words, I do so for the convention of writing. These energies are not gender-specific. All genders have masculine and feminine traits. Typically a person’s essence is one or the other. A healthy identity has developed its polar opposite and has the capacity of both. Usually, a person identifies with one trait, feeling most comfortable when operating from their essence.
So then, what is masculinity? Presence, strength, logical thinking, risk-taking, and decisive action. The masculine loves achieving, strategizing, competing, and planning. Above all healthy masculine holds integrity to its goals. Masculine lives to provide, help and prove its worth to the feminine. The healthy masculine worships the feminine as a life-giving force. Masculine celebrates and basks in feminine traits to feed the masculine strength.
Masculine and feminine energy complement each other and are not in competition. However, they are usually perceived as one taking from the other. For example, the often thought of strong women, sucking the life from a man, stealing all his masculine energy. The man, cowed and weakened by the strong female. Feminine energy in western culture has tended to be thought of as a weakness. Traditionally feminine traits have not been valued to the extent of masculine traits. This belief has weakened us as a culture and robs us of our power to have balance and a healthful synergy.
